Islamophobia Awareness Month

Writer: Team JannatyTeam Jannaty

Islamophobia Awareness Month

Jannaty's Director attended the Finsbury Park mosque event for Islamophobia Awareness Month, where local councillors, leaders and community representatives came together to address the theme of "tackling denial". Majida contributed to the discussion in relation to the the impact on women, providing insight into the overt and subtle forms of Islamophobia faced by our members in everyday life.

Jannaty spoke about hate crime in parks, abuse and attacks on busses and in public spaces. Some of our members have been supported with panic alarms from the local police and encouraged to report dog attacks to park patrol officers and the police.

We are delighted that Jannaty's community kitchen also provided catering for the event and hope this project can develop with your support in the future.
