UCL digital session on bowel cancer prevention

Working with the UCL WEISS team, Jannaty held a focus group for women to learn about how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is being used to assist doctors to identify growths in the colon for early diagnosis and treatment of bowel cancer. The group took part in a 'Where's Wally?' game which demonstrated how quickly AI can locate and identify growths.


We heard testimonials from survivors Sam and Addy, who spoke about their experiences of surviving stage 3 and 4 bowel cancer and shared information about the importance of early screening. Addy reminded the group to speak to their GP if they notice any change in their bowel habits and to return to their GP more than once if they are worried in the slightest.
